Journaling is an incredibly beneficial self-care technique, which doesn’t just enhance feelings of happiness, but reduces stress, clarifies thoughts and feelings, and ultimately helps you get to know yourself better. Journalling creates a pause in our day to go inward and digest our world in a safe container.
But how do I start? Starting and sticking with something new is always challenging. The concept of starting is often the biggest stumbling block. So what would happen if we took it away? Rather than always beginning fresh try layering instead.
Each month you will create on ONE page for the entire month. You do not need to journal everyday (unless you want too). There is no set time limit. You can journal for one hour or one minute. The amount of time is entirely up to you. You do not need to use one medium. Explore what you find interesting in the moment. Perhaps you heard something interesting you want to remember? Jot it down. Maybe there is a material you feel drawn to use that day? Incorporate it. Allow yourself exploration knowing that this journal is a safe space just for you devoid of witness or judgement. When the month is done, let go and begin again.
As we allow creative curiosity into our lives we build confidence, make friends with our subconscious (even our inner critic), plus regulate our nervous system on the cellular level.
So are you ready to try? Still a bit nervous?
Come join my Monthly Journal Club and make our landing pages together! I know sometimes it is far easier to begin and stick with new routines when we have a community supporting us.
