Grounding: Techniques for Anxiety

As we contemplate returning to a new normal many of us may experience a surge of Anxiety. This is perfectly normal. We have all been placed in a pressure cooker of isolation, fear and stillness. Now we are released into an unfamiliar world with new rules, expectations but no clear sense of safety. Naturally we will experience swells of emotion that can easily overwhelm our established coping skills. So what can we do?


Below is a very simple list of four techniques you can do to help manage big emotions. There are no tools or materials needed beyond taking the time to practice the technique. Practice them solo, as a family, or teach your children and friends. Through mindful connections we ground in the present moment and regain a sense of calm.
